Calaveras County offers an abundance of natural attractions and year-round events, including white water rafting, house-boating, kayaking, fishing, hiking, bicycling, cave exploration, skiing and snowboarding, wine tasting, cultural festivals and fairs and more! In March, the Calaveras Celtic Faire is California's oldest and largest Celtic Festival bringing the Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Cornish cultures together for one weekend in March every year. Featuring top name entertainment, Highland Games, jousting, food and fun. Also presenting the only competition jousting event in September. Calaveras County Fairgrounds. Riders from all over the world.

Celebrates Murphys' Irish heritage and beckons visitors and locals alike on the Saturday of St. Patty's with Irish musicians and dancers, authentic Irish fare and wares, carriage rides, crafts booths, dancing in the streets, and storytelling at Murphys Irish Days.

May brings the Annual Snyders’ Valley Springs POW WOW featuring gems and minerals the Pow Wow has over 200 vendors, Mountain Men demonstrations, Native Americans dancing, antique gas engines, camping, field trips, remote controlled airplanes, music, jewelry, crafts, food, plus much more! Fun for the whole family this event is located on a working cattle ranch. Free admission and parking.

Today, few events illustrate the gold rush era, as well as the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee. Every May the entire community celebrates its history and its future. The tradition of county residents showing off their best still holds true today. The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee has grown to an event with more than 35,000 attendees. Each year more than 2000 frogs participate. The top 50 frogs qualify for the International Frog Jump Grand Finals, which are held on Sunday of the Jubilee. The Bear Valley Music Festival runs the first two weeks in August and includes concerts form a full symphony orchestra, international soloists, legendary entertainers, and renowned opera stars in a unique mountain setting. The Festival offers an outdoor musical experience while under the shade of a large 1250 seat tent. Every year on the first Saturday in October you will find a crowd gathered to watch and take part in the Annual Calaveras Winegrape Alliance Grape Stomp. The event celebrates harvest and the rich wine industry of Calaveras County. Come and stomp a few pounds of grapes or simply be a spectator at this fun and crazy event! Along with the event, the Gold Rush Street Faire takes place with over a hundred vendors for you to peruse.

The Annual Lumberjack Days parade and festival held in October celebrates the lumber history of Calaveras County. It takes place in downtown West Point on the first Saturday of October. Complete with vendors, lumberjack competitions, a parade and car show, this event is fun for the whole family!
